Sydney West just keeps setting attendance records at our annual round of schools champs.

Last year 395 primary and secondary students were at Fred Caterson Reserve at Castle Hill, with its lovely mix of sportsfields and bush tracks. Numbers were so great that thi year separate primary and secondary days were scheduled.

And on Thursday a new record was set - 402 primary students on hand, with a further 200 having to be accommodated later this year as we were already at bursting point.

Another superb sunny winter's day had the kid going in all directions - and loving the venture across the BMX track in particular.

This time it was a small army of WHO organisers, SI gurus and coaches in charge - making it 700 students in two days.

Age race winners came from Carlingford West, Crestwood, Mt Riverview, Baulkham Hills, Rouse Hill and Sherwood Ridge.

Relays were won by Blackheath and Crestwood.
