Welcome to Orienteering NSW

Orienteering is a sport that challenges both the body and the mind. It's also loads of fun!

The aim is to use a special orienteering map to navigate your way around a course and visit marked check points along the way. You choose a course that suits your age and experience and proceed at your own pace: walk, jog or run. It is a race but you decide if you want to just race yourself or be the next world champion! The course may take you through urban areas, parks, schools, farmland or forests.

Events are conducted weekly across NSW and beginners are welcome at all events.

New to orienteering? Click here for more information.

Want to enter an event? You can see what's on by looking at the Coming Events at left or by going to the Event Calendar. Some events are enter on the day - you just turn up and register at the start. Other events require pre-entry and for that you need to know about (and register with) Eventor - read the Eventor FAQ.

Blue Sparks camp this weekend

Junior orienteers and their families are invited to join ACT families at the annual Blue Sparks camp this weekend, at Braidwood.

This year our ACT hosts Toni Brown and David Poland will have two elite coaches (Theo from France and Emil from Sweden), and some great learning opportunities.

The true value of this training is the bringing together of children AND THEIR PARENTS to learn what is really great about orienteering.

Facilities will include a small kitchenette, microwave, kettle, electricity, toaster, gas BBQ, tank water and taps, an outdoor warm shower, a beautiful swimming hole, a small picturesque  gorge, lots of lovely bush and a very large awning over a large concrete slab for communal meals.

Please bring chairs, tents, sleeping bags, food to share, compass, orienteering gear, large headlight each for night activities, warm clothes as it can be cool, sunscreen, hat, an old pair of runners to wear in the swimming hole to protect feet.

Please don't bring thongs – closed in shoes or runners must be worn at all times.

Hopefully you will get to see a platypus, some kangaroos and wombats.

To register please email David at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. A small donation is requested to cover costs.
