Bennelong, Garingal runners take out O'Shea 2-days

A pair of wily old foxes and the Kennedy clan cleaned up at the annual O'Shea 2-days event on the Central Coast last weekend.

Bennelong Northside's Mel Cox (pictured) and Gordon Wilson took out the long pairs section, a win in Sunday morning's score course sealing the victory by nine and a half minutes after neither man had dominated on Saturday.

Mum Tania Kennedy and son Tom (Garingal) won the short pairs division by ten minutes, with Tom also grabbing a win in Saturday night's short leg.

The 3 events in 20 hours, at Kariong and Shelley Beach, meant staying fresh was the key and not being distracted by the prospect of winning the traditional prize: cakes adorned with spearmint leaf lollies... YUM !

With many top contenders away at the opening NOL round in Brisbane, this was a chance for the next tier of regular competitors to claim the goodies. See the result summary.

We thank the Central Coast club for their hard work in putting on this annual fixture.
