In New South Wales, orienteering clubs are generally regional divisions of the state group (ONSW). A major function of the clubs is to spread the work of organising orienteering events. The clubs are also pleasant and convenient geographical groups for learning more about orienteering -- and for related social activities ...

Although you can enjoy orienteering alone, early contact with your club is warmly recommended; you will find that the experience and encouragement of other members is very helpful. Clubs are nominally based in particular geographical areas but you may join any club you wish. A good place to meet your fellow club members is near your club's banner at any event in the bush, towards lunch time.

See the Membership page for a membership form and further details.

Step 1 Identify your club

ONSW membership is club based.

Most clubs have a particular geographic identity, but there is no requirement for you to join the club in your area. Having friends in a club that does not identify itself with your area, for example, is quite a valid reason for joining that club. Go to the Clubs page for more information about each club.

Step 2 Choose the process: Online (Eventor) or Membership Form

Option: Online (Eventor)

Guide from Orienteering Australia for creating an Eventor Account Click - how_to_register_and_join_an_orienteering_club_or_casuals_group.pdf

Are you already a registered casual orienteer?  If you are upgrading your membership from Casuals NSW to ONSW Club Membership then follow this guide

If you are not already a registered casual orienteer:

Step 2a - Register each person on Eventor. Click here to register.

Step 2b - Apply for membership of ONSW and your chosen club for 2024.

Step 2c - Pay membership fees while online. Options include credit card (via PayPal) or PayPal itself.

If you need more help, take a look at the information and videos on the Eventor FAQ page.

If you have any problems with this process please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Option: Use the Membership Form (post or email)

Download the 2024 ONSW Membership Form (pdf) or (word doc), fill it in and sign.

Return the completed form by email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or post: Orienteering NSW, PO Box 3379, North Strathfield NSW 2137.

Pay by EFT or Cheque (account and payment details are on the reverse side of the Membership form).
