Susanne Casanova of Top End Orienteers brought home the best result of the competition in the WMOC 2011 when she won silver in W35 in the Long Distance Final. Orienteers from NSW had a mixed fortunes, with a good number getting through to the A finals in both Sprints and Long Distance, but none being able to convert those qualifying runs into medals. Many now head off to the Scottish 6 Days near Oban in the UK whilst others are venturing to the Swedish O-Ringen, the Swiss O Week and the 6 days of Austria. Wherever they go, they will be hard pushed to find as beautiful a sprint course as the Hungarians put on for them around their ancient city of Pecs for the World Masters this year.
