Through Hell and High Water
results and splits (updated 21/3/11)
... Well high water at least.
On Friday night I wrote the starters notes.
"most of the creeks are dry due to the drought"
Then .....The rain started, and it rained and it rained.
Then .....Various controls went under water, along with the paths and landforms.
Then .....The finish split printer died
Then .....Takishi had to be rescued by locals from the middle of a lake (using a giant inflatable thong).
Dennis had to be rescued when he fell and badly cut his face.
Thank you to all who paddled, swam and pushed their way through water up to their thighs – and that was on the paths.
An even greater thank you to those who stopped to help Takishi and those who stopped to help Dennis. You are too many to be named and SHOO really appreciates your selflessness in helping other orienteers. Thanks also to Terry who has worked wonders with the results.
SHOO hopes that the event was ‘memorable’, the courses ‘interesting’ and your results pleasing.
Lyn for SHOO
PS Nev looked at me in disbelief!!
