The last event of the series and WHO's Andy Hill finished with yet another win on what was a long sprint. Andy held off Newcastle's Peter Preston to win in 19:33 from Peter's 19:46.
Both Andy and Peter had late start times, still warming up while third place getter Michael Burton had finished and had gone back out on the course to check the best route from 6 to 7. Mike was a minute behind Andy, but had a 40 second buffer over the first junior, fourth-placed Aidan Dawson who took 21:11.
Tracy Bluett put her big foot to the floor this week and was fastest woman in 23:19, ahead of Uringa's Catherine Murphy, taking out 7th & 8th spots overall. Third woman was Lisa Grant in 24:32, a minute behind Catherine and just 4 seconds ahead of Cath Chalmers.
At the other end of the field, Frank Assenza's continued improvement took him out of the reckoning as a tight finish saw a three way battle for honours spread over about the same margin as the top three.
Another quality map and a great course from Helen Murphy and the Uringa crew.
