Michele Dawson, of Garingal Orienteers, was awarded a grant under the Local Sporting Champions to support her racing in the National Orienteering League. The Local Sporting Champions grant is an Australian Government initiative designed to support young people who are participating in State and National level sporting competition. Michele, who attends Presbyterian Ladies College, Croydon, is a long term member of the NSW Junior Squad and has competed for the State in the last four National Championships. Michele will accept her award from Mr Tony Burke, MP for Watson and Minister for Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities on Friday 29th July.
