NSW and Australian orienteering have lost another huge personality with the recent passing of Andrew Calder in Finland, aged 73.
Andrew made a massive contribution during the 1980s and 1990s as an event organiser and participant, along with wife Val and children David and Julie.
Later he moved to Finland and continued his support by managing Australian world championship teams, as follows:
* JWOC 1992, 1993, 1994, 2003
* WOC 2001
Andrew enjoyed walking in the forest, swimming, gardening, cooking, making jam by the kilo, bird watching, stamp collecting and attending concerts but most of all he liked to celebrate with friends and family. Many an hour were dedicated to the making of birthday cakes.
