It is so good to be conducting our regional schools championships again after covid wiped them off the 2020 calendar.
On Wednesday in Wagga, more than 80 students (from Wagga, Leeton, Walla Walla, Cootamundra, Stockinbingal and Ladysmith) gathered at Willans Hill in the middle of town for the annual Riverina champs.
A few Waggaroos results of note were:
Cameron McDougall 1st in Boys 16+
Tom Janetzki 1st in Boys 14-15
Ryder Seaman 3rd in Boys 10-11
Tom also ran all three legs of the relay and took the overall win, while Ryder was youngest competitor on the day.
A big thanks to organiser John Oliver and Waggaroos, and to the helpers who travelled from Sydney and Canberra to assist. Wit hout you all this day couldn’t have happened.
Next up are the three days of the Sydney West champs at Castle Hill from June 16-18. We are expecting 300+ students each day and organiser Barbara Hill is seeking people who can assist in any way: on rego, coaching, at the finish etc.
