State League events are enjoyable, challenging and offer the best orienteering in NSW. The events are open to everyone and have courses designed for beginners right up to experts.

The NSW Orienteer of the Year competition is conducted for each class using the results from State League Events. In 2019 there will be 15 State League Events. Your best 7 results count for the Orienteer of the Year.

Pre-entry is preferred for NSW State League events. Entries normally close two weeks before each event. Enter-on-Day courses usually consist of Very Easy, Easy (both ideal for beginners and children), Moderate and one or two Hard courses.

NSW Orienteer of the Year Competition 2019 - some changes

  • Only NSW club members can score OY points.
  • The fastest NSW club member in a class in each event scores 100 points.
  • Double points for NSW Championship winners no longer applies.
  • There is no OY competition for M90A or W90A.

The ACT Middle and Long Distance Championships will form part of the 2019 NSW OY Competition. Please note some OY classes may not be offered at these events.

30 Mar - State League 1
The Australian Relay Championships for M21E, W21E, W20E and M20E are being held in conjunction with this event. If you are running in the Relays, you are not permitted to run in State League 1. No OY points will be awarded for  M21A, W21A, W20A and M20A.
