Welcome to Orienteering NSW

Orienteering is a sport that challenges both the body and the mind. It's also loads of fun!

The aim is to use a special orienteering map to navigate your way around a course and visit marked check points along the way. You choose a course that suits your age and experience and proceed at your own pace: walk, jog or run. It is a race but you decide if you want to just race yourself or be the next world champion! The course may take you through urban areas, parks, schools, farmland or forests.

Events are conducted weekly across NSW and beginners are welcome at all events.

New to orienteering? Click here for more information.

Want to enter an event? You can see what's on by looking at the Coming Events at left or by going to the Event Calendar. Some events are enter on the day - you just turn up and register at the start. Other events require pre-entry and for that you need to know about (and register with) Eventor - read the Eventor FAQ.

Xmas presents galore

Looking for a present for that hard-to-shop-for loved one or friend ? Check out our list for those who've been 'nice' this year. All suppliers are wonderful supporters of orienteering:

Former Garingal president Tony Hill is widely regarded as the premier orienteering photographer in Australia, and he has put together a beautiful 2017 calendar with great shots from right across the country. Great for rusted-on O folk and non-orienteers alike.

If you've found yourself straying a bit (in the literal sense of course), Peter Shepherd advises he has the new STR8 compass in stock. Peter will have them for sale at the Xmas 5-Days in Newcastle.

Over at Aussie O Gear, Colin Price is ready to order a new batch of Aussie Supporters Shirts by Trimtex. Delivery will be in March so you have them for Oceania and WMOC 2017 in New Zealand. Orders are subject to quantity restrictions and must be placed by Jan 16. Polo $55, Vest $80, Jacket $100. Post is $10. Enquiries to Colin Price (This email address is being protected from spambots. Pace Athletic offer all orienteers 10% off their entire range. With stores now at Manly, Mosman, Crows Nest, Kings Cross and Rozelle, they have a full range of running shoes, clothes and apparel.
