The ONSW Manual is an official document that sets out codes of conduct, administrative structure, organisational procedures and competition rules for the sport of Orienteering within NSW.

Review of the policies and procedures set out in the ONSW Manual commenced in mid-2021.
Sections will be replaced as they are approved by the ONSW Board.

1. | GENERAL |
Codes of Conduct ONSW as a member association of Orienteering Australia has adopted in full Orienteering Australia’s Codes of Conduct:
These are set out in full on pages 25-31 of the OA Member Protection Policy. Communication about the orienteering Codes of Conduct should be addressed to the ONSW President. Member Protection Policies and Procedures ONSW as a member association of Orienteering Australia has adopted in full Orienteering Australia’s Member Protection Policy. This addresses child safety, sexual harassment, bullying, gender identity, anti-discrimination, intimate relationships between coaches/officials and adult athletes, social networking, responsible service and consumption of alcohol and smoke-free environments. Procedures for making and resolving complaints are provided in the document. Advice may be sought from the ONSW Member Protection Information Officers. Formal written complaints (using the format provided in the Member Protection Policy) should be communicated to the ONSW Secretary. Child Safety ONSW is committed to addressing the NSW Government’s Child Safe Standards. All adults working with children are expected to record their NSW Working With Children Check with the ONSW Development Officer Coordinator. Gender Equity ONSW as a member association of Orienteering Australia has adopted in full Orienteering Australia’s Gender Equity policy. Occupational Health and Safety ONSW strives to provide a safe and healthy workplace for its employees and visitors. It will do this by an ongoing process of identifying any risks to health and safety in workplaces under its control and by eliminating or controlling those risks through the development of appropriate procedures. Privacy ONSW enacts its respect for the privacy of all participants in the sport of orienteering and its legal requirements in this regard through its Privacy Policy. Privacy questions should be addressed to ONSW Secretary. |
