The following areas are embargoed to orienteers until the dates indicated: 

NSW State Championships

Embargoes for the NSW State Championships weekend (Middle and Long distance) to be held on the weekend of 12th & 13th September 2026:

• Tuckland State Forest, Dunedoo
• "Brooklyn" property, Dunedoo
• Laheys Creek Road, Dunedoo
• Brooklyn Road, Dunedoo

2026 Sydney City Race, Area Embargoes

The areas listed below will be used for the 2026 Sydney City Race and are subject to the following embargoes.

Pre Race: From 27 May 2025 until the Race commences on 25th October 2026:
- no reconnoitring of, or orienteering in, the areas shown in the map below; and
- no orienteering events to be held on any of the areas.
 
Post Race: From the end of the race on 25th October 2026 until 12 April 2027, so as to maintain the exclusivity and special nature of the areas for the Sydney City Race:
- no orienteering events to be held on any of the areas.

The areas for the purpose of this embargo are those north of Sydney Harbour, including Milsons Point, Kirribilli, North Sydney, McMahons Point, Balls Head and Waverton.

Australian 3-Days Easter 2027 Embargoes

Details of public land embargoes are shown in the table below. Additional areas of private land with no public access are being used and are also embargoed.

Anyone who wishes to compete in the Easter 2027 Australian 3 Days, Elite Prologue and associated public races may not enter the embargoed public land areas for any purpose, including training and camping, unless detailed in the exceptions below. 

Some areas may be entered for limited and specific activities (detailed below). The carrying and use of maps, taking photographs or attempts to survey the terrain during any of the allowed activities is not permitted. Anyone found to have broken any of these embargoes will be identified as disqualified in the competition results.
