Welcome to Orienteering NSW

Orienteering is a sport that challenges both the body and the mind. It's also loads of fun!

The aim is to use a special orienteering map to navigate your way around a course and visit marked check points along the way. You choose a course that suits your age and experience and proceed at your own pace: walk, jog or run. It is a race but you decide if you want to just race yourself or be the next world champion! The course may take you through urban areas, parks, schools, farmland or forests.

Events are conducted weekly across NSW and beginners are welcome at all events.

Want to enter an event? You can see what's on by looking at the Coming Events at left or by going to the Event Calendar. Some events are enter on the day - you just turn up and register at the start. Other events require pre-entry and for that you need to know about (and register with) Eventor - read the Eventor FAQ.

When do entries close? 31 August – Wednesday (today)!

Are there late entries? No – we are not accepting any entries after 31 August.  Starting 1 September, the team behind the scenes will be swinging into action to make sure that start lists are published, maps and bibs are printed, and all other tasks large and small, are completed for the 12 separate events that make up AOC2022.

Can I change my entry?
Before 31 August, you can change your entry yourself, in Eventor.  You can change classes and/or SI stick numbers.  After 31 August, the only changes accepted will be for SI stick number updates.  These must be emailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  You cannot change classes after entries close.
Can I cancel my entry?
Yes – but not in Eventor.  To cancel, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., with details.  If you are eligible for a refund, that will be processed first, then we will cancel the Eventor entry for you. 
What if I miss the entry deadline?
We are offering limited Enter on the Day options at most events, on one Hard, one Moderate, and one Easy course.  Entry and payment at Registration.  Details will be published on Eventor and the AOC2022 website, prior to the Carnival.
What about special requests and add-ons?
You can ask for parental splits, hire an SI stick, order a T-shirt, come along to the Mapping Workshop and Carnival Dinner, and enter the Melbourne City Race Weekend!  Click here for more information.
