Learn to Orienteer - Port Macquarie

Welcome to Orienteering NSW

Orienteering is a sport that challenges both the body and the mind. It's also loads of fun!

The aim is to use a special orienteering map to navigate your way around a course and visit marked check points along the way. You choose a course that suits your age and experience and proceed at your own pace: walk, jog or run. It is a race but you decide if you want to just race yourself or be the next world champion! The course may take you through urban areas, parks, schools, farmland or forests.

Events are conducted weekly across NSW and beginners are welcome at all events.

New to orienteering? Click here for more information.

Want to enter an event? You can see what's on by looking at the Coming Events at left or by going to the Event Calendar. Some events are enter on the day - you just turn up and register at the start. Other events require pre-entry and for that you need to know about (and register with) Eventor - read the Eventor FAQ.

Jet boat ride winners announced

The final random draws have been conducted for entries to the Xmas 5-Days carnival, and organisers are pleased to announce our last batch of winners:

Jet Boat tickets for 2: Diana Charlton (Newcastle) and Miles Bryant (Enoggeroos from Queensland)

Sydney by Sail refund: Rudi Landsiedel (Newcastle) and Oonagh Grassie (Moravian Orienteers from Scotland).
Speaking of Moravian, check out their great short video.

Our earlier prize winners were:
Sydney Harbour paddle for two: Camilla Bevensee (OK Pan Arhus, Denmark)
The Rocks Ghost Tour: Martin Wehner (Weston Emus, ACT) and Keith Goode (Big Foot)

A big thank you to all our sponsors for their generous prize donations. As well as these prizes, our carnival sponsors are offering discounts to carnival entrants, and these can be viewed here.

Entries have now closed, and we are delighted that there are more than 200 people entered each day and more than 300 for our debut on Cockatoo Island on Day 2.

Please note there will be a very limited number of enter-on-day places available (the concurrent Sydney Summer Series at Pyrmont on the Monday will run on the usual basis), and hardly any for the Ultra Sprint on Dec 31.
