This weekend just gone, National Orienteering League (NOL) #3 was held in Brisbane.
The weekend started early with a training camp April 25th & April 26th and then on the Saturday April 27th the first event was held at Griffith Uni Nathan Campus and doubled as the QLD sprint champs. The campus was undergoing lots of construction, so the map had lots of red hatching on it. It made for interesting route choice did you take the long way round or weave through the construction.
The W20E was won by Nea Shingler from Big Foot & the M20E was won by Cooper Horley, Garingal.
In the M21E Alistair George was 3rd and Ewan Shingler 4th both from Big Foot.
Following this event many fueled at Mt Gravatt lookout, the 2nd event was at John Paul College which was the relays and a public race.
Both the NSW Junior and Senior teams were winners in tight race. It proved to be a good spectacle for those watching on.
A social event was held that evening on the Northside of Brisbane River.
The Second day of the event was a Knockout sprint at Wellington Point state school & Alexandra Hills state school & Tafe Campus.
The outright winners at the end of the day were Nea Shingler & Cooper Horley.
