Covid-19 Updates
ONSW COVID-19 Update December 2023
Australia is now in its next COVID-19 wave 1.
Current NSW Health Guidance on COVID-19 recommends you stay at home if you have cold or flu symptoms and wear a mask if you need to leave home. Also stay up to date with your Covid-19 vaccinations. The new vaccine released recently is expected to provide better protection against newer Omicron variants of Covid.
So if you are due for another booster now is the time to get it. See recommendations on booster doses.
Clubs should continue to:
- Advise competitors and volunteers not to attend events if they have cold or flu symptoms.
- Adopt a cancellation policy of fully refunding entry fees for those entrants who are unable to attend an event due to genuine COVID-19 related concerns.
- Keep the orienteering community safe by: providing hand sanitiser for competitors before and after competing, encouraging physical distancing, disinfecting surfaces after use, and recommending volunteers and spectators wear masks when in crowded indoor spaces.
