SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
Orienteering NSW (ONSW) is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Children and Young People in orienteering by providing a safe and inclusive environment and by ensuring that everyone involved in orienteering is aware of their rights and responsibilities in relation to Children and Young People.
All our members and participants have an obligation to protect and maintain the integrity of our sport, as well as the health and well-being of all people who participate. ONSW has a zero-tolerance policy to harm, abuse and/or neglect of a Child or Young Person in any form. All Children and Young People have the right to feel safe and protected from all forms of abuse, harm, and neglect, and have the right to take part in sport in a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment.

- 10 ONSW Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy;
- 11 ONSW Code of Conduct;

In addition, Orienteering Australia (OA) is a signatory to the National Integrity Framework (NIF). The OA NIF policies can be found within the ONSW Manual and also at https://orienteering.asn.au/integrity/ and include:

John Murray Admin Officer
ONSW are seeking applications for the role of co-ordinator for the Xmas 5 Days carnival for 2021.
This role is a great way of gaining experience for a multi-day carnival in a slightly more relaxed setting vs a formal champtionship role. This role will be a paid role with renumeration based upon a percentage of total entries.
The planned venue for 2021 is the Southern Highlands to take advantage of the work already done for the cancellled 2020 event.
Click here for the formal position job description. The previous co-ordinator Ron Pallas has developed a document of the key aspects and responsibilities from previous years while he was co-ordinator.

It’s the time of year when we usually head into the forest for the pinnacle of the orienteering season in Australia.
Unfortunately, this year things have not gone our way and most of us won’t be making it down to Tasmania for the Aus champs.
But not to fear, the OA and ONZL high-performance teams have put their heads together to come up with a challenge that does not let all your hard work go to waste!
Open to all ages and abilities, this is one not to be missed!
What’s the deal?
3 days, 3 different challenges, teams of 3 competing for ultimate glory. You will score points for each Stage you compete in, with team members results being combined to a total score for the 3 events.
Details are here. A big thanks to Brodie Nankervis for co-ordinating this.
