Extent of Manual Update:

Amended policy – 2.1 Fees and Levies; including

1.    Changes to methodology for calculating event levies for former category 4d and 4e events (Minor);

2.    Metro League is now a Category 4c Series;

3.    Moving ‘Event entry fees’ from ONSW Manual 4.3 Organisers Rules for all Orienteering Events C.3.b to ONSW Manual 2.1 ONSW Fees and Levies para 3; and

4.    renumbering ‘Belanglo House Fees’ from para 3. to 4.

Reason for Update and Relevance:

ONSW membership fees remain unchanged for 2025.

OA event levies remain unchanged for 2025.

ONSW event levies remain unchanged for 2025 with the exception of former event categories 4d and 4e (Minor events).

At its November 2024 meeting, the ONSW Board approved the introduction of a new tiered levy system for all former category 4d and 4e events. These events will all now be known as Category 4d regardless of classification of host club and event levies payable will be based on the number of participants per age category per event. Metro League is now a Category 4c Series (the same as Sydney Summer Series).

This change was approved with the goal of providing a levy structure that is:(1) fair and equitable across clubs no matter where they are located, for minor events; and (2) sufficient to satisfy the ONSW levy income required to maintain operations.

This also reinstates the levy rebate with respect to free entries as a result of the ‘Family maximum’ entry fee structure. The reinstatement having been approved at the ONSW General Meeting in May 2024.

ONSW Maximum Entry Fees remain unchanged for 2025. These, along with associated sub-junior, junior, family and add-on fees, have previously been included in ONSW Manual 4.3 Organisers Rules for all Orienteering Events C.3.b. To improve the logical structure of the ONSW Manual this topic has been moved to ONSW Manual 2.1 ONSW Fees and Levies para 3.

ONSW Manual 4.3 Organisers Rules for all Orienteering Events C.3.b will be updated in due course, after a full review has been completed.
